Evolution through Innovation

To mark it’s 100th birthday in 2009, Audi Ireland commissioned Verve to stage a remarkable series of events in Station Building, a former railway platform in the centre of Dublin city.

The backdrop for event one and two was a spectacular 45 feet of water dropping to relay real time bit-map messages and choreographed to live music performances by Escala and DJ sets by Gary Numan and David Holmes. Appropriately enough for an event themed around innovation, Numan is cited as the godfather of electronic music. He perfectly reflected Audi’s maxim ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ - innovation through technology. This theme was continued with Dragon's Den star Peter Jones and an an Audi designer discussing innovation with Miriam O'Callaghan at Event 1.

Guests got even closer to Audi at the drive experience events which kicked off with a concours d'elegance of Audi models from Station Building to the Carton House Estate in Co. Kildare. The invite-only events were followed by a free retrospective of iconic Audi cars and interactive displays open to the public. Irish street artists Maser, Chris Judge and Bren B along with furniture designer Hugo Thompson were commissioned to bring their own interpretation to ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ - a 100 year legacy.
